Greetings from Pastors Tommy and Mendy Royster in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Thank you for visiting our web site. Mendy and I have lived in the Richmond/Henrico area all our lives and love the people here. After serving our Lord at other local churches, we were called to attend Faith Landmark Bible Institute to prepare us for full time ministry, where we graduated in 2006 and became ordained in 2012 through the ministry of Mountain of Blessings Christian Center by the late Dr. Dimitri Bradly. It has been an honor and privilege to serve as Pastors at No Limits Upon God (aka Elko Union Church) since 2012. Our heart is to minister to people of all backgrounds in the church and in the world. To lead people into a loving and joyous relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ through the teaching of the doctrine of the Apostles as they received from our Lord Jesus Christ; maturing together in one body to the same measure of Love as our Savior who gave His life so that we may live. Our commitment to our community is to be a safe place where all people can feel at home where they are loved unconditionally as we help them understand how much their Creator, God Almighty, loves them and at the same time understanding He is The Holy God who hates sin and the deadly effect it has on His children. That it is God's desire that no person spend eternity separated from Him but that all come to the saving knowledge of His Son Jesus Christ, who paid the ultimate price of death upon the Cross for the sins of the world and died, but was raised to life again on the third day and now lives forever making intercession to The Father for us all when we decide to give up trying to live our lives our way, dying to all self-righteousness and learning to trust-in, rely-upon, and lovingly and willingly obeying His Word. Our testimonies are like many, we lived without knowing and loving the Lord for many years, but at an appointed time, He called us to serve Him and our lives have never been the same. We would love to share with you, the transforming power of Christ's Love so you also might live eternally in heaven with your Creator at the appointed time and live now on earth with joy unspeakable and with His Peace, which is beyond all human understanding.
In His Love,
Pastors Tommy and Mendy
In September of 1909, members of several denominational backgrounds banded together for the purpose of creating a place of worship in the community. The founding fathers were Methodist, Baptist, and Lutheran. An interdenominational church was uncommon in the early 1900’s but the members wanted to be identified as such, so the name Elko Union Church was chosen. The word “Union” indicating the joining of believers with different denominational backgrounds for a common purpose – the purpose of worship and service.
Written records are scarce prior to 1922. The story is told that a transient in search of shelter and warmth took refuge in the church. Unable to find kindling he used the only fuel available, the churches written records. The fire was confined to the immediate area and damage was minimal. The congregation was small but faithful. It has been this faithful spirit that has kept the church going and growing from a one room frame building.
Now referred to as a nondenominational church, and now named No Limits Upon God, our focus is still on worship and service to our Lord and Savior.

ABOUT GOD
Scripture teaches that there is one and only one true and living God, who is self-existent, and the eternal "I AM," the creator of heaven and earth, and the redeemer of mankind. That He has chosen to reveal Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, the same in essence, though distinct in personality. The mode of His existence, however, is a subject far above the understanding of man. He is the fountain of all perfection and happiness. He is glorified by the whole of creation and is worthy to be loved and served by all intelligence. He, therefore, is the only proper object of worship.
ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the Son of Man, was born miraculously of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and came into the world to save men from the guilt and condemnation of sin. He offered His blood as atonement and makes it available to all who exercise faith in Him. We also believe in His bodily resurrection from the dead, His exaltation to the right hand of God, and His divinity is proved from His titles, His attributes, and His works. He is presently seated at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for His redeemed. We also acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord over all things in Heaven, and on Earth, and under the Earth.
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Scriptures ascribe to the Holy Spirit, the acts, and attributes of an intelligent being. He guides, knows, moves, gives information, commands, forbids, sends forth, and reproves, as the instrumental segment of the God Head in the liberal dispersion of spiritual gifts, and can be sinned against. The works of God are ascribed to the Holy Spirit, creation, inspiration, giving of life, and sanctification. Sanctification is the process by which, according to the Will of God, we become partakers of His holiness; that it is begun at regeneration; and that it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the continual use of the appointed means, especially the Word of God, self-examination, self-denial, watchfulness, and prayer.
ABOUT CREATION
God spoke into existence the world and all things that it contains, for His own pleasure, and the enjoyment of His creatures. God created man in His image according to Genesis 1:26 as a triune being consisting of spirit, soul (which is made up of the mind, will and emotions), and a body.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe that the Holy Scriptures, both Old, and New Testaments were written by holy men inspired by the Holy Spirit and are God's revealed word to man. They are the sufficient, infallible rule and guide to salvation, and all Christian worship and service. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, equally in all parts and in the whole is totally inerrant in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme revelation of God and of God, superior to conscience and reason, though not contrary to them; and it is, therefore, our infallible rule in all manners. All the Scriptures center about the Lord Jesus Christ, and hence, that no portion is properly read nor understood until it leads to Him.
ABOUT PRIMITIVE MAN AND HIS FALL
Our first parents, in their original state, were upright. They naturally preferred and desired to obey their creator and had no preference or desire to transgress His will until they were influenced and inclined by Satan to disobey God's commands. Previous to this, the only tendency of their nature was to do righteousness. In consequence of their first transgression, the state under which posterity of Adam came into the world is so different from that of Adam that they have not that righteousness and purity which Adam had before the fall. They are not willing to obey God but are inclined to do evil. Hence, none by virtue of any natural goodness and mere work of their own can become the children of God.
ABOUT SALVATION
Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the only Son of God. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life. The inward evidence of salvation is a direct witness of the Spirit and the outward evidence to all men of a life of righteousness and true holiness. Salvation is by grace through faith, is a free gift, and wholly without human works. The spirit of the believer who dies in Christ immediately goes to be with the Lord.
ABOUT ETERNITY
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
OUR PURPOSE
To spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the preaching and teaching of the Holy Bible, to bring the unsaved to Jesus Christ, to build up and disciple the saved in Christian grace and living, to have a vital part in the missions here and abroad, and to strive toward unity will all races for the sake of peace in the Body of Christ.
We are united in one accord for the following purposes:
